Poetry Analysis: Dylan Thomas on Death The central theme in Dylan Thomas’ poem, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night,” is that all people should rage against death rather than simply accept it as natural. Thomas addresses his poem to a general audience of wise, good, wild, and grave men who are facing death. While the poem is meant for all people who must die, it is particularly aimed at the poet’s own father.
